Erving Treasurer’s Office
 12 East Main Street
 Erving MA 01344

The Treasurer is charged with receiving and accounting for all the monies belonging to the town, processing town and school payrolls, initiating temporary and permanent borrowing and performing other statutory functions as required by the Massachusetts general laws.

Town expenses are paid every other week, the opposite week of payroll.

Cash receipts come into the Treasurer’s office in many different ways.  The State automatically deposits their payments to Erving in our Money Market Account.  The school brings over lunch money, after school program funds, and other money on a weekly basis.  The Select board turns in receipts from building, electrical, and plumbing permits and licenses.  The Tax collector turns money over periodically. Periodically we get money from grants and other departments.
